Ballet is an excellent way to learn the fundamental principles of all dance. Parents today realise the benefits of early training and its not always all about whether the child wants to become a professional ballet dancer or not. The benefits of dance training will carry over to many areas of their lives. The obvious advantages of good posture, musicality, co-ordination of arms legs and body, elegance and discipline are huge confidence and self esteem builders.
Yvonne believes that if students have a good grounding in ballet they will find they can master most other styles e.g. jazz/hip hop, contemporary relatively easy.
Ballet grades progressively develop the child's technical ability and by Grade 1 Character work (steps from different countries) is added. After Grade 5 Pointe work will be added. From then on the student can choose to go as far as they like in their chosen path.
